All we need is our little one . . .

The nursery is finished, infant seat is in the car, bags are packed and the house is clean . . . well as clean as it is going to get for the moment. Lets just hope the lil bambino arrives before we have to do another clean :)

The dresser my mom used as a changing table when I was a baby. I painted it to match a duvet cover I had in college so dad's mission was to get it back to white.
Mission Accomplished!
I woke up one morning to Tucker helping dad set up the swing. He loves the stuffed animals!

While Grandmother Cassidy was in Sandestin a month or so ago, she ran across this painting done by Meme while getting the house ready to put on the market. It looks great in the room and will cherish it always.
I had taken the nursery pictures and sent them to Meme the day she passed away but know she is looking down and loves seeing it in her great grandchild's room.

38 weeks!

(This is for you Aunt Liz. Stuffed after dinner at the club and before my back started killing me!!)
How I feel these days :) . . . When you are two weeks from your due date, the last thing you want are a million pics taken!

According to babycenter.com
Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.

Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

Many Thanks!

Wanted to thank everyone for their love and support over the last week. I was overwhelmed with the emails, texts, phone calls and feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. It has been a rough week and couldn't have gotten through it without you!!
The Bryan's, Cassell's and Busey's sent me gorgeous flowers done by Cypress (Ann Evans Floral company; http://www.bloomcypress.blogspot.com/ ). The tulips are from my good friend Jana. Thank you all so much! They have helped brighten the house during this difficult time.
Mom gathered flowers from the service and sent them home with Cynthia Athey to give me. They are gorgeous and smell wonderful!
Grandmother Cassidy pulled a rose off of Meme's casket for me to keep. She knows me all too well . . . Coral is my favorite!

Full Term . . . 37 weeks!

According to babycenter.com . . . (37 weeks last Friday)
Congratulations — your baby is full term! This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away.

Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

We went to the doctor Monday morning to see if there was any progress. Great news . . . baby Brent is slowly starting to make his/her presence. I am 1cm and 60% effaced. Could happen any day or in the next 3/4 weeks. We are getting so excited and anxious! The unknown of when the big day is is killing us!

Anne Beddow Moor

Today we lost an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and soon-to-be great grandmother! She lived a wonderful life and will be greatly missed.

Please pray for Mo, my mom (Grandmother Cassidy) and family during this difficult time; as well as my family as they travel to Birmingham to celebrate her life. I wish more than anything I could be there but unfortunately will not be able to with my due date being only 3 weeks away.

Meme we love you and miss you!!

Elizabeth Grier Cannon has arrived!

Born at 1:30pm and weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces. Talked to the proud dad and said they are both doing great! Can't wait to meet her!
Always felt I had time because Brooks was exactly 4 weeks ahead of me and knew she would be first. Now that Grier is here that means we are next! Ahhh! Not so much fear (at the moment) but excitement!
Looking forward to taking many walks with our little ones!

35 more days!

Five more weeks until due date! Dad is still hoping for 4, aka his birthday. Surprised he wants to share the day especially since he has told me more than once in the last 24 hours that his birthday month starts today. Um isn't is February, not March :)

Mom is definitely getting to the point where she is ready! It has been a rough week with nausea and NO sleep! I have resorted back to ginger ale and the basics I wanted during the first trimester. My taste buds aren't liking much these days. As for no sleep, guess I am getting ready for lil bambino. On fumes! 3 hours each night is NOT going to cut it. I sure hope this baby lets me sleep a lil (a lot) more before he/she makes his/her appearance. PLEASE BABY BRENT!

According to babycenter.com

How your baby's growing:

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

34 week checkup

We had an appointment this morning with Dr Laubscher and everything is great. Baby Brent is still head down even though the other night the baby was so active I was afraid he/she had flipped. The heartbeat ranged from 146 - 151. I mentioned the more I try and get stuff done, the stronger and more frequent Braxton Hicks Contractions I have. She said it is normal and the baby's that are more active a lot of times come early (still a lil early but if he/she comes it is ok). Um what! This was right after she made ANOTHER comment about our little one being so active. I had to ask dad if I heard the correct thing and his response . . ."yes that is what you heard and guess what we are ready so do not worry!"
We go back in 2 weeks and after that every week! Ready or not, here he/she comes!
