Family Traditions

Every Christmas, we decorate the tree and watch Christmas Vacation. This is normally how it turns out . . . mom decorates while the boys relax and watch the movie!
Dad did help put the lights on the very top and I finished the rest.
Only got as far as unwrapping all the ornaments!

This year we not only got a tree for the den, where we spend most of our time, but got one for the living room so it can be seen from the street. Something dad says is a must! Normally we would have everything up but this year mom is moving a lil slower. We have a busy week but hope to have it finished soon!

Light Parade

Saturday night we went downtown to watch the annual Light Parade. The Jennie Mac left at 4:30pm but thanks to Gigi and Pops, they dropped us off later so mommy could take a nap. Thanks again! When we got there they were right by the Main Street Bridge with a great view!
The Buseys watching the parade

The dragon was our favorite! (Sorry the pics are hard to see)
Gingerbread House

After the parade, there is a fabulous fireworks show!
Best part!

I passed!

Last week, I took my second Glucose Test. This one didn't go as well as the first one I took during my first trimester. I was given orange, instead of lime, and had 5 minutes to drink, instead of 10. It really wasn't too bad until I had about 20 minutes left of waiting and I started to feel real hot and faint. I was sitting in a room all by myself wondering what was going on! Afraid to stand up in case I passed out so I inched my way to the door and asked the nurse if I could have some water. She immediately told another nurse to help me! Guess I looked as bad as I felt. The nurse came in to put a damp paper towel on my forehead and neck. I had to use the restroom so was wheel chaired in front of everyone! Not fun but thank goodness started feeling better by the time they needed to take my blood. I have been told that if you do not pass you have to do it again but wait 3 hrs vs the one. I have been praying that doesn't happen to me!
This morning I got the phone call I have been waiting for . . . you passed! So relieved however there was a but, she said my iron was low so need to take an iron supplement in addition to my prenatal vitamin.

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Almost made it to the Black Friday events! That is all dad talked about last night and I said no way, I am sleeping! Who would of thought that I would be up at 5:45am on a morning I could actually sleep in. Guess I better get use to it huh! Of course as soon as dad woke up 30 minutes later, he immediately turned on the radio and said "no Christmas music!" What has happened to my husband?!?!? Each year he gets more and more excited! He has been ready for Christmas since we found out the wonderful news of our addition.

Last weekend we started getting our Christmas decorations down. We are hosting a Baby Shower for my godsister in 2 weeks and because it takes me so long to get things done and need a bit more help, we started early!

Dad couldn't wait to hang up the garland!
Grandmother Cassidy and I are headed to see if we can find a Christmas tree tomorrow! Wish us luck!

25 weeks!

After two huge meals, the baby is full and happy!
We have 15 weeks left until my due date! Yes 15! Crazy huh! We thought this day would never come but with it quickly approaching we have many thoughts :) Excited and nervous just to name a few!
According to babycenter.com, the baby is about a pound and a half, 13 1/2 inches and the size of an average rutabanga

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a great day and didn't eat too much! We sure didn't :)

Dad and I headed to the farm late Wednesday afternoon. We had some wonderful BBQ Grandfather Cassidy slaved over all day. Ribs were a bit spicy for momma :) Can't forget Aunt Claudia's delicious coleslaw!

Turkey Day arrived so it was time to get prepared for the delicious menu of Turkey, venison, dressing, rice & gravy, sweet potato casserole, squash casserole, green beans, & rolls. For dessert we had pumpkin pie, pear crisp and a sweet potato surprise. Mom of course had to sample everything on the menu and definitely did not leave hungry!

Grandfather Cassidy carving the delicious turkey Great Grandmother Mimi made. Yum!
Aunt Claudia asked dad to set up the pack-n-play for some good practice :) Wasn't too pleased I tried to get this pic but I couldn't resist. He quickly left the room and it took 3 of us to put it together :)
Austin, Rob & Lilly came for lunch and we were so glad to finally meet her. She is absolutely adorable and Baby Brent can not wait to meet her/his cousin!
After eating with the Cassidy Clan, we headed back to Jax and went to Gigi and Pops for our second meal of tenderloin, salad, rice and rolls. It was all so good!
Cousin Kirby in action!
Aunt Anne loves Roe Roe!
Cool Dude!

Brent Family
Yeah no more pics!!

We feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends and even more blessed to have this little miracle in my belly! Even though it keeps getting bigger and bigger, I still can not believe this is happening and beyond excited to meet him/her!

Green or White?

Grandpa and Grandma Cassidy gave me this adorable shower curtain for my Birthday. Instead of picking design ideas for the bedroom, we started with the bathroom to try and neutralize the pink as much as we could and found this. It was our inspiration for everything else and think it is perfect!
We were going to leave the walls white but now can not decide if we want to paint them green.

This will really be the only pink that will be showing . . . we plan to get a new toilet!
Decisions Decisions . . . hmmm mom I don't know.
Let us know what you think.

Bye Bye Wallpaper & Old Paint!

Daddy finished stripping the old layers of paint off the windows and door frames! He did such a great job! Half way through sanding and then we can paint.
T-man wondering what is going on in a room we never use to go in!
Thanks to Grandmother Cassidy, the wallpaper is off! Now we just have to clean, patch, sand and then we will be ready to paint . . . the walls. The vanity needs some TLC but not as much as the walls did.

Thank you so much for all your hard work Grandmother Cassidy and Dad! We love you!

23 Week Checkup

Everything went well. She said I am measuring right on track and the lil bambino's heartbeat is 154. She answered questions and then sent me on my way but not before giving me the sheet to have another glucose test taken next week. Yuk!

I go back in 4 weeks for another checkup, NO ultrasound :( I went from having tons of ultrasounds to now having to wait months! Torture! She said the last ultrasound went so well that she didn't see any need to have one in 4 weeks. As I told daddy, at least everything is going well and they aren't worried about anything.
So now we just wait another 8 weeks to see Baby Brent. At that point we will start going every two weeks! Ahh! Where is the time going!

According to babycenter.com, the baby is the size of a large mango (a lil over a pound). Growing like a weed. I am sitting here watching him/her kick my belly. Crazy seeing it move!

Happy Birthday Gigi!

Hard at work!

Took dad awhile to get motivated but he is now on a roll! We are getting plantation shutters put in so dad is pretty excited and so is mommy bc he has to have the windows completed for them to be installed.

Another reason daddy has been hard at work is bc we realized Baby Brent is going to be here in approximately 4 months. Yes 4 months! Time has flown and these next 2 months are going to go by even faster with the holidays. We are so excited and can not wait! Trying to enjoy these quiet nights even if I am bored :)

Birmingham

I had a great few days in Birmingham. Spent lots of time with Memo & Mo along with my aunts, uncles and cousins. We decide to stay at Margaret & Bills with Meme being sick. Thank you again for letting us stay! Margaret had plans to go to the lake with the girls but was able to spend a lil time with her before she left (Brooke is on her way home from Colorado and we are so excited! Can't wait to see you!). My last night there, we all went to Matt & Leigh Ann's for dinner. It was such a treat! She is a fabulous cook and the dessert she made was my favorite and the cheese biscuits :) Loved seeing the new house and the boys. They have grown so much!
Leigh Ann was sweet and got Baby Brent a lamb! It is so soft!

Margaret spoiled mommy with this wonderful candle!
With Meme being sick, I wanted to spend my time with her but was able to have lunch with Sally, Megan and Hunt. It was great seeing them and look forward to getting to hopefully spend more time together soon.
Megan gave me a cute photo clutch and Baby Brent a soft blankie!
Thank you all for our goodies! I enjoyed getting to spend time with everyone and can not wait to come back soon! XOXO

We're Back!!

On Thursday October 22, we headed to the mountains for our annual birthday/fall trip! It rained all day Friday but that didn't stop us from having fun.
Saturday morning we woke up to this gorgeous view.
We bundled up and decided to head to Highlands. We did some shopping and Grandmother Cassidy showed us around Old Edwards Inn, where the wedding will be in June. I kept imagining a lil one wherever we went. Going to be different but we can NOT wait!!!
Mimi, Claudia, & Jim came for cocktails Saturday night. Claudia gave Baby Brent these adorable burp cloths. She also brought pictures of sweet Lilly. She is adorable and can't wait to meet her Thanksgiving.

On Sunday, we headed towards Brevard to take Tucker to some falls so he could play and then drove part of the Blue Ridge Parkway home.
(20 weeks! Half way there!)
Can't remember the exact name but it was John something.
Dad told me it looked like my belly!
Sliding Rock

Monday arrived and it was time to go :(
Dad and Tucker packed up the car and headed back to Jax while Grandmother Cassidy and I headed to Birmingham.
